SOE Character Team

During my first summer internship in 2009 at SOE Austin I worked mainly with the character team on DC Universe Online.  It was my job to rig & skin as many npc characters as I could.  I learned the proprietary rigging tools under the direction of Luiz Kruel.  After improving my weighting skills and familiarity with the rigging tools themselves, I also picked up the task to test the character animations in Unreal as well as test them in game.  Once approved I would add sockets in Unreal and then implement the characters themselves into the game. All characters/animations were made by other SOE artists.  It was my job to make sure skin weights worked perfectly with the animation library and to fix any visual character bugs.
